Anovaz exists to empower female equestrian athletes. We believe that a bold and confident rider looks better, performs better, and feels better. Our goal is to foster an equestrian community that is joyful, welcoming, and full of women who uplift each other and love themselves.

Our Principles

The ideas that guide everything we do to empower equestrian athletes.

Confidence and Expression

Anovaz believes that a beautiful outfit promotes a better ride. Feeling good in your clothes has been proven to improve performance outcomes and overall confidence. In a sport that pushes perfection and conformity, Anovaz strives to allow riders to stand out and shine. We believe that self-expression is the key to unlocking potential at the individual level, as well as enabling the equestrian community as a whole to thrive.

Partners, not Passengers

Anovaz believes that the best riders work tirelessly to improve their skills by training in AND out of the saddle. That includes paying mind to muscular fitness, good nutrition, mental techniques, and overall equine knowledge, in addition to specialized riding skills. We believe that riders should strive to be athletic partners to their horses, not just passengers.

Femininity ≠ Weakness

Equestrian sport is dominated by women and girls who are fearless, tenacious, and unwaveringly dedicated to their equine partners. These women overwhelmingly prove that femininity encompasses not only confidence and beauty, but also discipline, strength, and grit. Anovaz helps female riders feel represented through riding wear that is not only gorgeous, but also durable and athletically supportive.

Meet the Founder

Vivienne Couris started riding at seven years old at a hunter/jumper barn, but now focuses on the thrilling discipline of eventing with her horse Gabe. A lifelong multi-sport athlete, she quickly noticed the striking differences in training approaches and attitudes in the horse world versus those of other sports.

In the world of riding, many trainers failed to emphasize fitness, nutrition, and mental techniques. Additionally, self-expression, femininity, and having fun weren't encouraged like they were in other sports, and the equestrian industry felt unwilling to let go of outdated ideas about its athletes.

As an up-and-coming equine professional, Vivienne started Anovaz with the goal of empowering female riders and promoting recognition of their impressive displays of grit and determination. Her vision sees a community where horses and humans are treated as athletes, and where riders are encouraged to recognize their unique strengths, practice self-love, and feel free to express themselves.
